The temperatures have definitely fallen but you can still catch a few rays of sunshine! Fancy making the most of it for a family trip out?
You're invited to join us on an outdoor walk combining relaxation, nature and culture to learn new things!

La Maison du Cygne

At Six Fours les Plages, nestled in the Bois de la Coudoulière are the Maison du Cygne and its botanic garden.
This beautiful house made of dressed stone was built in the 20th century. It belonged to the directors of R. Boyer tile makers. The Maison du Cygne now hosts temporary exhibitions, as well as contemporary art sculptures in the garden.
In the grounds of the house, the botanic garden is divided into 3 spaces:
- A vegetable garden: artichokes, peppers, pumpkins, beans, herbs, and more...
- An orchard with more than twenty different kinds of fruit trees: apricots, pears, apples, almonds, cherries, etc.
- A rose garden with more than 120 varieties
Children will be delighted to discover the aromas, and the plant varieties that change over the course of the seasons. A fun way to raise children's awareness of the environment!

Fort Balaguier and its botanic garden

At La Seyne sur Mer, along the magnificent Corniche de Tamaris, stands Fort Balaguier. This canon tower built in 1643 was designed to protect Toulon harbour. Since 1970 the fort has mainly been used to present local maritime history, the Bagne de Toulon and the life of its prisoners.
During the tour, you can enjoy the magnificent panoramic view over the sea and the harbour. The fort is also surrounded by a beautiful garden that retraces the fabulous "plant odyssey" that took place with the arrival of a huge variety of plant species in the harbour in the 18th and 19th centuries.
There are several "aspects" to enjoy:
- The garden of fragrances with its aromatic plants
- The garden of voyages with plants indigenous to Australia
- The grass garden
- The garden of cacti and succulents
- The Asian garden with bamboo and water hyacinths
- The exotic garden
- The citrus plants
- The garden of industrial and tinctorial plants
And of course you shouldn't miss the vegetable garden and medicinal plants.
A beautiful depiction of a voyage in the perfect setting... and for something extra... A fun tour for young explorers to learn about the history of the fort!

La Castellane Park and its green way

All ages are welcome to come and use the benches and picnic tables in this 5-hectare park. There is also plenty for children to do (roundabouts, small climbing walls, playground springs), little cabins, bowling greens and a multi-game court for basketball, handball and indoor football.
And the green way is perfect for young children to ride on their bikes, roller skates or scooters.
Everything you need to enjoy spending time as a family...
Take the signposted route behind the park to stretch your legs with a walk, or a run for the more active, climbing the hill through pine trees, flowers and other local flora.
