Digital Museum Micro-folie
Digital museum and virtual reality space. Discover a rich collection of over 2000 works from 114 national and international museums and institutions.
The Micro-Folie is a cultural platform proposed by La Villette that serves the territories. This cultural project provides a digital museum that offers a discovery of some of the one hundred and fourteen national and international institutions and museums such as the Louvre Museum, the Château de Versailles, the Paris Opera House, the Arab World Institute, the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City, the Acropolis Museum in Athens, the National Gallery of Ireland, and many others.
This discovery is made through ten tablets that are made available to the public, children, young people and adults, presenting also games for a more playful approach to the work of art. The museum also offers multidisciplinary content, such as plastic arts, theatre, architecture, music, etc., and access to short films or short movies provided by the television channel ARTE.
The Micro-Folie in La Seyne-sur-Mer also has a virtual reality space, again in partnership with ARTE, and accessible from the age of 13. With the help of two VR helmets, it allows us to dive 360 degrees into the paintings of masters or the seabed or the Mont Blanc.
The Micro-Folie is completely free and open to all, young and old.
It can be visited in two ways:
1) Through the self-guided tour, on Wednesday afternoons from 1pm to 6pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 5pm, visitors discover the museum freely, without reservation, and use the ten tablets provided to interact with the collection on display at the time.
Workshops for children and young teenagers are also possible.
2) Through the lecture tour, by reservation from Tuesday to Friday, where the cultural mediator gives a lecture on a specific theme. Each lecture is adapted to the audience. Prepared visits are already available for schools and associations.
The Micro-Folie of La Seyne-sur-Mer also has the "Discovery Tour Origins" of the game Assassin's Creed for a playful and non-violent discovery of ancient Egypt, available both for the free visit, when it is offered, and for the guided tour.
