Heritage Saturdays: discovery of the Oppidum de la Courtine

Location : Musée archéologique Bottin Layet

Building on the success of the European Heritage Days for over 20 years, the culture and heritage department of the town of Ollioules organises discovery and interpretation tours of its heritage throughout the year.

Every first Saturday of the month, an agent from the culture and heritage department accompanies you on a visit to the Bottin-Layet archaeological museum, followed by an interpretation of the museum's exhibits according to two alternating themes: the Celto-Ligurian oppidum of La Courtine and the medieval rampart.

The first route is a peri-urban walk from the town centre, via the GR 51, to the Celto-Ligurian oppidum of La Courtine where the objects presented in the museum were discovered. This route, which combines sport and archaeology, will allow you to discover exceptional views. A picnic from the bag will complete the pleasures of the fresh air and history with that of conviviality. (Caution: significant difference in altitude, not accessible to PRM)
